Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in "Full House"

I am back today to show you this lovely color my mom picked up for me and I painted my nails with a couple of days ago.

I am not huge into gel nail polish, but I love polish brands that make gel nail polish without all of the fuss. No lights, no curing, no waiting. Many easily accessible brands have some nice gel polishes, such as Loreal, Sally Hansen, Covergirl, OPI.

The brand I am showing you today is Revlon. Their gel line is called Colorstay Gel Envy. In their gel line, all that is involved is their polish color, and then their special diamond top coat.

The color from this line that I have to show you today is called Full House. This is a nice light blue that can appear eggshell blue in certain lights. I love the name. I am sure it has not one thing to do with the show Full House, nor the other Asian drama of the same name, nor does it really give off the color vibe of a full house. I love it all the same though. I did two coats by itself.

It is shiny. I love the wet look that it gives. In terms of how long it lasts, I am on day two of wear and some of my nails have chips and some don't. No polish lasts long for me, usually polish chips the next day, but it may just be my weak nails.

These polishes from this line from Revlon usually range from $5-$8, depending on the store. It costs more here in Hawaii, with markups and such.

Swatches and Review of AphOrism mini nail polishes

I am back today with swatches and review of a new set of polishes that I recently picked up.

On a recent trip that I went with my mom to our local TJMaxx, I spotted this neat collection of nail polishes that I have yet to see before. It is a ten-piece set, from a brand called AphOrism. I have not a clue what their name means. These are all mini polishes.

I tried to look up their brand online, but basically no traces could be found. I have no idea on the retail value of this set, but I paid $7.99 and it said on the box that it retails for at least $14.

The colors in this collection all range from white, gold, coral, red, pink, and purple. Here is a preview of all of the lovely colors this set has to offer:

All of these polishes have no names, so I will just describe the colors.

First up, this is your average white cream. I did three coats by itself. This color is nothing special.

Next up, this one is a nice, sheer, pink shimmer topper. I did three coats by itself. This is probably best over another color, like the white that came in this set or even a pink. I love the look on it's own though.

Third up, this one is a metallic light gold. I did three coats by itself. This is a nice color that I think any sheer colored polishes would go nicely over.

This one is a nice medium coral cream. I did three coats by itself. This would be good under a nice glitter topper or shifter polish. I just feel like a mint colored one would be neat to try.

Next, this one is a rose/dark blush shimmer polish. It has a bit of a gold shift to it. I really like this color, but this one was so hard to photograph clear. I took tons of shots and none were really that good, so this is the best of them. I did three coats by itself.

This next one is a nice medium coral-y pink cream. I did three coats by itself 

Seventh up, this one is a nice medium magenta cream. I did three coats by itself.

Next up, this one is a nice maroon-mauve cream. I did three coats by itself. I love colors like this. While it isn't totally unique, it kinda always feels like it is when I try them out.

This one is my favorite of the bunch, and the one that photographed the best out of every one of these polishes. This one is a shimmer-shifter, dusty purple that has a bit of a pinky shift, which is hard to see in the photo. I did three coats by itself.

Last up, this one is a nice orangey-red cream. I did three coats by itself. My camera, as you know, hates bright colors, so this one was hard to photograph.

My thoughts on these polishes? Nice colors, and all without topcoat are super, super shiny. Application wise? Most of them apply streaky or patchy. When swatches some of these colors, the application was so bad on some nails that I had to swatch them twice to get it to look decent.

If application issues don't matter to you and you are one to make any polish work no matter what, then by all means, pick these up. For me, I am not too fussy with application so I don't mind SO much, so I will be keeping these polishes.

Glitter Guilty Bubble Yum

I am back today to show you this wonderful polish that I picked up in a swap.

I did a swap maybe a week or so ago with My Boyfriend Hates Makeup. I sent her Picture Polish Watermelon and she sent me Glitter Guilty Bubble Yum and a Wet n Wild Coloricon polish, name unknown.

What I have up to show you is one of those polishes. This is Glitter Guilty in Bubble Yum. This is a nice, bright, bubblegum pink polish filled with blue, white, and hot pink hex, rectangle, and bar glitters. I did three coats by itself. 

The glitter was hard to pick up. I got a bunch on my swatch hand, but hardly any on the other, and too much on my swatch hand's thumb, but that's alright. Application was great. I just love this color so much and it photographs so well! I recommend you guys pick up this color or try other Glitter Guilty polishes if you haven't already!

Leesha's Lacquer Swatches and Review Part 3

Sorry for the long absence. I am back with some lovelies from my favorite indie brand of all time.

I did another great swap with my friend Alicia from Leesha's Lacquers. I swapped a bunch of polishes, four of them being her own brand, Leesha's Lacquers. 

Three of them are from past collections, and one is from one of her more recent-ish collections.

The first one up is called Strawberry Shortcake. This one is a glitter topper filled with frosty white, mint, super light pink, and coral red hex and square small and medium glitters. I did three coats by itself. There were no problems with application.

Next, this one is from Leesha's The Trans-Fab Transylvania Collection. This is called Dr. Lusecrue. This is a black and red glitter topper. I first thought to top this over Revlon's Spidey Sense but the pictures weren't happening so by itself it went. It looks very pretty and gives a nice full look on it's own. I did three coats by itself. Application was great.

Third, this one is called Bitchcraft. This is a black holo and black medium glitter topper. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. I think with placement and maybe another coat, this one would look great all by itself, it builds up pretty decently.

Last up, this one is my favorite of all of the four. This is called The Dominator. It is a gunmetal metallic shimmer polish filled with medium blood red glitter throughout. I did three coats by itself. this one is not a glitter topper like the rest in my opinion, as it builds up quite nicely on its own. If you so choose to, you COULD wear it over another color, but why would you want or need to?

Promise Polish Swatches and Review

Sorry it takes me a while to do reviews, I am slow and don't like to rush the entire thing, plus I was busy with life again.

Finally I got to swatch these cute polishes from the brand Promise Polish. These polishes are made by a lovely single mom out of her home in Pineville, West Virginia. Here is what she has to say on her brand according to her Etsy:

"I''m a nail polish junkie. There is no hiding it. I never thought about making polish on a large scale, just a few for my own enjoyment.
When the polishes that I made started getting noticed by friends, they encouraged me to start making them so other people might enjoy them as well.
I asked God to guide me in this decision.

I work out of my home, by myself. Each polish is hand mixed individually and tested on me over the course of two to three days. I decide on how well it wears and do my best to accurately describe the performance of the product.

I'm a busy girl. Aside from taking care of my own home and family, I also clean other peoples homes, so my hands are constantly wet on covered in cleaning products. (I'm not big on wearing gloves.) We also raise a big garden so dirt and weeds are my friends. So the polish gets a real work out. If it doesn't pass the test it does not get listed."

I have four lovely ones up to show you guys! Here is a preview:

The first one that I have up to show you is called Such A Pretty Girl. This one is a nice super light lilac polish with shimmer. The shimmer was hard to capture on camera, but you can see it in person. I did three coats by itself. No problems with application on this one.

 Next up, this one is called Magic Hour. This is a black scattered holo polish. I did three coats by itself. I love the color, but the application wasn't the best. It was patchy and it kinda got bumpy as I tried to fix it, hence my middle finger. If I didn't try to fix it, it would probably look a little better.

Third up, this one is my favorite of the four that I have to show you. This one is called Jamaican Vacation. As per Promise Polish's Etsy, the polish is described as "Jamaican Vacation shifts from dark blue to green with a gold and aqua accent. In the right light at the right angle you may catch a hit of purple. It is very sparkly." I did three coats by itself instead of over another color, just so everyone could see the colors and flakes better. Application was great.

Last up, this one was the most difficult to photograph, because I had to act fast. This one is called Misty Skies Moon Rise, and this is a thermal. It shifts from super light grey to dark grey. I did three coats by itself. My middle finger shows the color as it is under hot water or hot heat, and the dark grey on the rest of my fingers is in the cold. I had to do more work to get the hot color to show, it was cold enough here that the dark grey stayed that way. I rushed from the faucet to run the one finger under hot water, and then back to my camera to make sure the effect didn't wear off too fast. My hand position on this one is a little off because of it. Application on this one was perfect.

So all in all, I would definitely recommend these polishes. A nice variety of colors and textures and finishes. Even the one I had trouble with, Magic Hour, I would suggest trying out. I am just not the best with application so you may have better results than myself.

Boii Cosmetics Swatches and Review

I am back today with a great review from a new brand that I just found out about.

This brand is called Boii Cosmetics. About this brand, this is what they have to say on their website, boiicosmetics.com:

"Boii cosmetics was started in 2012 by two sisters living in New Jersey. We initially became interested in creating nail polishes as a hobby, but was inspired by our awesome mom to evolve our hobby into a business and a career. Since then we have transitioned from nail polishes to now offering eye shadows and lipsticks."

I was sent two lovely colors to try out and review for you guys! Here is a preview.

The first of the two that I have up to show you is called Gothic Chic. This is a black polish packed with micro copper glitter throughout. I did two coats by itself. Application was great, no issues.

The second one is called Pastel Blue. This one is a nice baby blue with super subtle shimmer that you can only see a little of in the bottle. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. I love this color, it is so gorgeous. The color is a little less bright in person.

While I have only tried these two polishes from Boii Cosmetics so far, I think they are a great brand and totally worth a try. You can pick up their polishes on Etsy via Boii Cosmetics, or on their website, www.boiicosmetics.com. Their polishes range from $3.99 to $12.99 for full size bottles, depending on the finish. They also sell cosmetics such as nail wraps, lip gloss, lip stick, eyeshadow, and they also sell t-shirts.

Blue Sparrow Trinket's Nail Poish Swatches and Review

Today I have some great polishes to show you from a new brand that I just found out about while browsing on Etsy.

This new to me brand is called Blue Sparrow Trinkets. They started in 2008 and make and sell jewelry, watches, and nail polish and accessories. When they have an overload on supplies, they also sell those as well. They work from Beaumont, California.

In terms of nail polish, they sell nail stickers/vinyls, accessories, cosmetic bags, and more. They sell over 100 nail polishes on their Etsy page. They sent me seven beauties to review, and I am excited to let you know my thoughts on them!

Here is a preview of all of the lovelies.

The first one that I have up to show you is called Star Power. This is a sheer hot pink with a super subtle shimmer that is filled with hot pink hexes, white star glitter, and white bar glitter. I did three coats by itself. Application was fantastic.

Next up, this one is called Blueberries and Cream. This one is a super sheer creamy lilac polish filled with micro blue glitters and small blue hexes to imitate the blueberries. I did three coats by myself. Application was great. I really love colors like this. It reminds me of those spring collections that Models Own and Colo Club have come out with.

This next one is called Glass Slipper. It is a iridescent blue glitter packed polish that shows hints of gold. This one has a hint of grittiness to it. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. It was so glittery that my camera had a hard time getting a good picture of it, so this is the best I got.

The fourth one that I have up to show you is called Midsummer Night's Dream. This is a glitter topper filled with fuchsia hex glitter, gold and fuchsia micro glitter, and large silver holo butterflies. This one is one of their scented polishes. I did three coat by itself just to see how it would build up. While yes, there is still visible nail line and would be best over another polish, it doesn't look too bad by itself. Application was great!

Next up, this one is called Romance. According to their Etsy, this contains a mica base. This polish is a rose, blush colored frost filled with large and small gold hex glitters and micro gold glitters. I did three coats by itself. Application was great, it coats really well.

This one is called Labradorite. According to Blue Trinkets' Etsy page, " This polish is a mica and glitter based nail polish. It is inspired by the stone labradorite. This polish contains, mica and glitter in flashes of blue, purple, silver, red, and pink." I did three coats by itself. My photo shows its flashes of blue and mauve. Application was only okay on this one. I had a hard time getting the color to even out and it bubbled a little.

The last one up that I have to show you guys has the cutest name of any of the polishes here. This one is called Unicorn Farts. It is another iridescent polish. This is a sheer pink polish filled with teal, rose, fuchsia, and purple shard glitter. This one also is scented, and it smells like cotton candy. So yummy! I did three coats by itself. This one probably would be better over another color, like white or a nice light pink. Application was great for this one.

I only had application issues with one polish, so 6/7 is pretty good. I would definitely recommend this brand for using so many different types of bases, colors, and tons of different types of glitter.
