Polishes I've Made Myself

*Product Kit Received for Christmas and Polish Made By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today with some different polishes that I have to show you. These polishes are neither bought by me, received to review, nor did they come from a store or online. They are not mainstream, salon, high end, or indie.

Well, maybe you could call them indie because they are hand made, but that is about it.

My favorite polish swapping buddy and I swapped gifts for Christmas. I sent her a box of stuff she liked and she sent me one. In the box I got from her, she sent me a polish making kit. I was so excited about making my own polish. She send lots of glitters and two full size bottles with base and two mini bottles with base.

I was so excited to start creating my own polishes, I made all four using all of the glitters she sent me on Christmas day. It will be up to you guys to let me know if any of these were a success and if any of these were a fail.

Here is a preview!

The first one that I have up for you guys I have named 80's New Wave. This is a neon pink jelly filled with mini blue glitter and medium sized clear holo square glitter. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. I love this color I made, it is so pretty and poppy and reminds me of Cyndi Lauper.

The next one I like to call Icy Gold Disco Ball. This is a icy blue jelly filled with gold micro glitter and copper small glitters that had a little bit of black glitter mixed in. I did three coats by itself. the blue glitter didn't mix up the best so I needed to kinda spread it on, but other than that it was good. I really love the combo of colors I made here, reminds me of winter.

Next up, this one is called Glitter Queen. This is a combo of a ton of different glitters. I used dark pink glitter for the base, black, purple, pink and white large glitters, red large glitters, and purple mini glitters Application was great, but with all glitter polishes, a little messy and glitter was left around my fingers. I did three coats.

The last one up that I have to show you guys that I created is called Lucky Leprechaun. This one is a bright green polish filled with small silver glitter and medium green glitter. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. I think this is such a neat color. The combo of the green base glitter and the silver base glitter didn't mix super well, but goes on the nails well.

It was so much fun playing with this kit my friend sent me. I loved creating the polishes and I think I didn't so that bad. Maybe the glitter bomb one wasn't the best idea, but it was still fun to make none-the-less. Let me know which ones you guys like and which you think are fails.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Pure Ice Poppin Bottles

*Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today with a lovely polish that fits perfectly with the holiday season and winter and snow.

I have up to show you guys a lovely polish from Pure Ice. This one is called Poppin Bottles. It is an icy sheer polish filled with micro, small, and large silver glitter. I did three coats by itself. It is meant to actually be a topcoat but I enjoy the look of topcoats by themselves.

Application on this was great, hardly any need for cleanup. This is such a festive polish. It reminds me of holiday ornaments and New Year's Eve fireworks and celebrating.

Among other stores, I know you can find Pure Ice at Walmart. I picked this one up for around $2.15, which is a steal!

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Rimmel London Keep Calm And.... Lip Balms Part 2

*Products Sent to Me for Review

Hey guys!

I am back today with some more of those lovely Rimmel Keep Calm balms to show you all.

Strangely I was sent another package from the people over at Coty and Rimmel London with three more of these cute balms. One I had was a duplicate from the last package, Rose Blush, so I gave it to my mom. The other two in the package, I have here today to show you all.

The first one that I have up to show you is called Keep Calm and Kiss in Pink Blush. This lip balm just gives off a hint of baby pink color on your lips. This is after five coats.

Next, this one is called Keep Calm and Party, in the color Violet Blush. This one gives off just a hint of purple on your lips. In real life it shows a bit more, the picture doesn't do it justice at all.

These two colors seemed to show up less on my lips than the last three, but I still really liked them a lot. They are very moisturizing and glossy!

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Loreal Paris Special Colors

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today with some more Loreal Paris polishes that I just recently picked up.

I recently went to TJMaxx and they got in a lot more nail polish. They had what had to be around 100 polishes to choose from.

I picked up five different polishes. Four were Loreal polishes, and one was an Eve London.

Since one of the Loreal polishes was a duplicate to swap away, I have the other three on my blog today to show you guys.

Here is a preview of the three lovelies, which I just noticed I put in the wrong order, but anyways.

The first one that I have up to show you guys is called The True Diamond. This one comes from their magic top coats line. It is a cloudy off white shimmer top coat. I did two coats over three coats of e.l.f. Bubble Gum Pink and then three coats by itself on my ring finger. Application was great.

Next up, this one is called Le Pastille. This one is a gray cream with black large, small, and micro glitters. I did three coats by itself. Application was great.

Last up, this one is the illusive Masked Affair. This is a grey-lavender holographic polish. I did three coats by itself. Application was great. This one has such a strong holo effect, it is fantastic.

If you guys have a TJMaxx in your area, you better go there now. At least in mine, they had a huge amount of Loreal polishes. My thinking is that they are phasing out of the polishes in the square bottle in stores and bringing in the double sided tube polishes in their displays instead.

At TJMaxx, these only cost me $1.99 each!

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I'll talk to you all later, bye!

Rimmel Keep Calm And.... Swatches and Review

*Products Received for Review

Hey guys!

I am back today with a non polish post, but a post you have seen a few times on my blog.

I recently received some lovely items in the mail from the makers of Rimmel London. They sent me an email about some of their new products and asked if I wanted to try them, so I said of course.

What I have for you today is three lip balms that come from their Keep Calm And.... line. All of these balms are very sheer, so they only have either no color or very subtle color. I apologize in advance for the terrible swatch photos, still not sure how to take pics of my lips that aren't fuzzy I used my Iphone 5 which isn't the best, but it does let me see my lips before I take the pictures which I do like.

First up, this one is called Keep Calm and Rock, in Berry Blush. this is a subtle berry fuchsia sheer lip tint. It is very moisturizing. I did five coats to get as much color as I could.

Next up, this one is called Keep Calm and Play, in Rose Blush. This is a rosy red lip balm with super subtle color that is just barely there.

Last up, this one is called Keep Calm and Shop, in Clear. This is just a glossy lip balm that is moisturizing.

Pics are small to show the color the best and it is less fuzzy that way. As you can see it goes from some color to no color. If you like just a hint of color and a lot of moisturization, these are definitely for you! I like a little more bolder color, but these are great for when I don't want to look too fussy and don't want to stand out too much.

You can find these in any store that has a Rimmel display as far as I know, but I have yet to see them in any stores near me. I believe these cost between $3 and $4.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Poishes for Swap!

Hey guys!

I am back today to let you guys know of my swap board, full of polishes that I no longer have interest in or received from someone and they just aren't my style.

These are just some of the lovely polishes that I have for swap. This lovely image and banner was created by my favorite polish buddy, Alicia, over at Leesha's Lacquers.

I have over 100 polishes up for swaps. 125 to be exact. I have a mix of indie polishes, mainstream, high end, and minis. Creams, holos, glitter toppers, and more are in my swap board.

This is my swap board right here: https://www.pinterest.com/vshaw320/polishes-for-swap/

If you see anything that you like from my board, just comment with your swap boards or a link to the polishes you have up for swap. I am up for anything except creams. I also will swap for non polish items like handbags, wallets, and other makeup.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and hopefully you guys see something you like and we can do a swap together.

Duochome Polish Comparison: Covergirl and Color Club

*Polishes My Own

Hey guys!

I am back today with a comparison post of two polishes that I recently acquired, Covergirl Emerald Blaze and Color Club Portfolio.

While these colors aren't the same, I wanted to kinda compare them in terms of how well the color shift comes out in the light.

The first one I have up to show you is Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Emerald Blaze. This is a green metallic polish with a redish-gold shift. I did two coats by itself. Application was great.

The shift isn't present in pictures, but it is there and it is pretty. In the picture, this just looks like a pretty metallic emerald polish, which I like either way.

Next, this one is Color Club's Portfolio. This is a metallic purple with an emerald shift. I did two coats by itself. Application was great.

In pictures and in the light, the green shift you see in the bottle turns into a mint blue shift, which I find super pretty. Green shift or blue shift, I really love this polish!

Both of these polishes are really pretty and belong in any polish lover's collection. In terms of their shift, Color Club wins because it really comes out in the light and in pictures. If that is what matters to you most here, then that is the one you need to pick up!

Covergirl polish goes for around $5-$6 each in drugstores, Walmart, Kmart, and other retailers. Color Club retails for around $8 in specialty stores such as Sally Beauty and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

That's all I have for you guys for now, I hope you all enjoyed my post. I will talk to you guys later, bye!

Black Dahlia Lacquer: Royal Geranium

*Product Swapped For

Hey guys!

I am back today with a post on another polish that I did a swap for. I love to swap for polishes, even swapping more than one polish per if it means I am getting a really nice polish in return.

This polish that I swapped for this time is from Black Dahlia Lacquer. The name is Royal Geranium.

It is a lavender creme filled with micro pink, small blue-lilac, medium red, and medium purple glitters. I did three coats by itself. Application was fantastic, I hardly had to do any cleanup.

This color isn't really festive and good for Halloween, but it was just calling out to me to try it out. Both the color and the name are more appropriate for either spring or summer, but it does have some red and a lot of purple, both of which in my opinion are very Halloween-y colors.

You can purchase their polishes from their website, blackdahlialacquer.com. You can get their polishes for as cheap as $6 for their 8ml bottles, which is the size I got in my swap, and it actually has quite a lot of polish for the size.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Bootie Babe Cosmetics: Freaky Cheeky

*Product Won In A Giveaway

Hey guys!

I am back today to show you guys a lovely polish that I happened to win in a recent giveaway.

Bootie Babe Cosmetics held a giveaway for some of their polishes form one of their recent collections. There was a number of colors of polish that I could win, including green, blue, and yellow. Those who won weren't able to pick what color they wanted, so I just had to hope I would get a color that I liked and could use.

To my delight, I won one of my favorite colors to wear. Plus, this is my first ever Bootie Babe polish, and I have been wanting to try out their polish for a really long time!

The polish I have to show you is called Freaky Cheeky. This is part of 8 limited edition bikini bottom nail polishes from their line. It is a hot pink shimmer. I did two coats by itself.

Application was great! This is such a great polish, and I hope I have a chance to try more of their polishes in the future. Plus, their bottle design is so cute and unique from all of the other polish brands out there.

This color, and basically all of their other colors, are for sale for $8 (REALLY!) on their website, www.bootiebabe.com. Plus, they have free US Shipping, so you need to get on it and get some of their polishes if you don't yet. The color selection is fantastic!

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you guys later, bye!

Ciate Glitter Polishes: Swatches and Review

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back finally with a new post after letting my damaged nail heal for a little while.

Today I have two lovely polishes to show you guys that I picked up a couple of weeks back from Nordstrom Rack.

They had a display table full of clearance makeup, and I found these beauties from Ciate sitting there.

I have two up to show you guys.

The first one that I have is called locket. This is a silver holo glitter with small chunky sliver glitter. I did two coats by itself. Application was great. The coverage was a little more sheer than I thought but it was still pretty good.

The second one that I have to show you is called jewel. This is a blue-silver bar holo polish. I did two coats by itself. It is so shiny and holo-y that my camera couldn't get a great pic. Application was great. I am not a huge bar glitter fan but this one was pretty and covers quite well.

These polishes both can be used as glitter toppers, but with two or three coats, they work perfectly on their own. You can find Ciate polishes on sale often at TJMaxx, but sometimes like I said at Nordstrom Rack. I paid around $3 a piece for these, but they go for $3.99 at TJMaxx.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

New Rimmel and NYC Eye Products!

*Products Sent to Me for Review

Hey guys!

While I have a nail on my left hand that is healing and regrowing from a month or two ago when I sliced the top of the base with scissors, I have another different review for you guys!

I have two new products from the minds over at Sally Hansen and Coty, Inc. These come from two different brands in their company, Rimmel and NYC: New York Color.

Recently they came out with some new products for your eyes and I was asked if I would like to test them out and review them. I am new to doing eye product reviews, but I was game!

They sent me a mascara and four eyeshadow sticks. Since my eyeshadow skills are only good enough for me to see and I suck at taking eye pics, I swatched on my arm.

First up, I will show you guys the mascara that they sent me. I was sent Rimmel London's Wonderlash Lift Me Up Mascara.

This mascara has a huge wand and brush, which I love. It has two curves to get all of your lashes. I tried it on one eye only so you guys could see a before and after. It lengthened my lashes, but I didn't think it did anything super extraordinary. I like it as a mascara in general though, very nice, but not anything too special.

(Left eye is shown with no mascara, and right eye shows with.)

Next I have up the NYC CityProof 24hr Waterproof Eyeshadow, which I have four different colors to show you guys.

The first two colors I have up are Madison Square Park and Empire State Building.

Madison Square Park is a bright emerald green that has shimmer and is almost minty.

Empire State Building is a slate grey shimmer that can look almost blue in the light.

Next up, these two are Brooklyn Mocha and Murray Hill Champagne.

Brooklyn Mocha is a light golden brown shimmer that is almost rosey. It shows up better in the group swatch shot.

Murray Hill Champagne is a super light gold with shimmer.

I felt that all four of the eyeshadow sticks didn't have super high pigment until you really went over it at least four times, but I still find the colors pretty and great to layer on other colors.

Rimmel London's Wonderlash Lift Me Up Mascara retails for $8.99 and the NYC CityProof 24hr Waterproof Eyeshadow sticks retail for $2.99 each. I haven't spotted the mascara in stores yet, but the eyeshadow sticks are in stores now. Check your local CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and other stores for these products.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now! I'll talk to you all later, bye!

Rimmel London: Salon Pro: Kate Moss Shades

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today to show you a couple of shades that I picked up last month from Longs Drugs

These two are from Rimmel's newest nail polish line, Salon Pro. The two shades in particular that I have to show you guys are from Kate Moss' collection in this line and with this brand.

These two shades are more darker than I usually go for, but I thought they were super unique and so pretty!

The first one that I have up to show you is called Punk Rock. This is a purple toned gray creme. I did two coats by itself. Application was great. I love the name of this, it is a very unique color that to me embodies punk rock. (Scissor injury on my middle finger, hence the line)

The second one that I have up to show you is called Saturn. This is a nice bronzy-gold metallic polish. I did two coats by itself. I love this color. While there are many golds out there and many browns, this one is great because it combines the two colors into one lovely metallic. Application is great.

I love these polishes. They are so pretty. They go on so well. As for the wear, it didn't last long but like I've said before, polish never lasts long on my nails so don't really trust me on that. You can pick these guys up at Longs Drugs or wherever they sell Rimmel products, but these are not in all displays. Longs had them for the regular price of $2.99 each, probably cheaper where you live since everything here is at a markup.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure: Bridal Collection 2015

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today to show you some lovely polishes that I picked up from Sally Hansen.

My work, Ross, occasionally gets in some mainstream brand polishes. This time, they got in a couple Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure ones. One day I picked up one, and the next day I picked up another.

I looked the colors up that I picked up and noticed that they are both from their bridal collection from this past spring, which is exciting to know I got polish from such a recent collection. I only found two out of the four or five in the entire collection.

The first one that I have up to show you is called Perfect Pair. This is a baby pink filled with micro golden shimmer. I did three coats by itself. Application was great.

The second one I picked up is called Bridal Bling. This is a metallic silver polish filled with micro holo-gold glitter. I did three coats by itself. Application was great.

While baby pinks and silvers are a dime a dozen and nothing to write home about, what makes these polishes unique is the micro shimmer and glitter hidden inside of the polish.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

LA Colors: Color Craze Gel

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today to show you guys some new polish that I picked up.

I have heard some people talking about the LA Colors Gel polishes and how they loved them. I spotted them at Ross over the weekend.

I found a three pack of a coral, a mint, and a hot pink. They all have no names.

I decided to do a mani featuring the hot pink shade, because we all know I love pink, and using an accent of SpaRitual in Burst. I did three coats by itself, and a middle finger accent. Application wasn't the best, a little bit lumpy.

I love the look, but the package says that it wears like polish and looks like gel. I dislike that. It means that it will just look shiny, but still chip just as easy. Also, to me, before adding a topcoat, it looked no more shiny than any other nail polish. If anything, it looked less shiny.

Maybe it is just me, but I am not super impressed by these, but still neat to have in my collection anyways. If anything I have said hasn't swayed you from wanting to try these, check your local Ross to see if they have these. I picked them up for $5.99 for the three pack.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

SpaRitual: Four Lovlies

*Products Purchased By Me

Hey guys!

I am back today to show you some four lovely SpaRitual polishes that I recently picked up.

Last Sunday I went to TJMaxx with my mom. I noticed they got in some new polishes. Lately their polish section, in my opinion, has not been that great. they got in some great ones this time. They had a great display of tons of SpaRitual polishes.

I love their polishes. I have only had the pleasure of trying one before buying this group, but I loved the one that I had. I was excited to get to try some more.

Here is a collage of the four that I picked out!

The first one that I have up to show you is called Intellect. This is a medium blue polish packed with purple shimmer. I did three coats by itself. I love this color, the photo doesn't do it justice at all.

Next up, this one is called North Star. This is a duochome polish that goes from a purpley grey to pink and purple, and it is full of pink shimmer. I did three coats by itself. Colors like this never cooperate with my camera, so sorry for the photo. Plus bubbles are because it is like 1000 degrees where I live right now.

Third up, this one is called Burst. This is a glitter topper micro pink and medium red glitters in a sheer redish-pink base. I did three coats by itself. It works great on its own with multiple coats or put it over another color to give a kick.

The last one that I have to show you is called Barefoot. This is a beige colored polish filled with micro holo, pink, and red glitters. I did three coats by itself. I love the pop of color the glitter gives to this subtle color.

All of these polishes applied fantastically. There was a little mess, but I am not a professional so some mess is gonna happen anyways. I love the variety of colors that I picked up, from glitters to sheer to duchrome. These polishes can be found at TJMaxx for $3.99 each. Usually these can retail upwards of $20 each, so you are getting an awesome deal. If you like any that you see, or already love this brand before this post and want more, better hurry to your local TJMaxx before these polishes leave the shelves and they are on to more OPI or China Glaze.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer in Work of Tart

*Product Purchased Myself

Hey guys!

I am back today with a great polish that maybe some of you have thought of picking up in the past, or that you already own and love.

I love Sally Hansen, have featured them often on my blog. Today I have a polish from their texture line of polishes. This one comes from not the Sugar Coat line, but their sister line, Sugar Shimmer.

This one is called Work of Tart. This is a great minty-teal gritty texture filled with subtle golden shimmer. I did three coats throughout.

On my ringer finger, I did an accent of China Glaze Don't Be A Flake. This is a glitter topper  filled with rose gold, black, sky blue, and holo hex glitters. I did one coat.

Both polishes went on great and wear pretty well. Lasted a day until chipping which is great for me. Usually polishes on my nails chip within a day, so these are pretty good.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat I believe isn't still sold in stores but you can spot them at places like TJMaxx and Ross for around $2. China Glaze sells usually for around $8-$9 in salons and $3-$4 in places like TJMaxx.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you all later, bye!

Vintage Polishes Day!: Revlon Oldies

*Polishes Received in Swap

Hey guys!

Today I have some wonderful vintage polishes to show you all that I received in one of the recent swaps that I did.

I got a number of vintage polishes, but the ones that I have to show you here are two of the Revlon ones that came in my package.

These are quite old, I don't even know how old but I can only assume at least from the 90s.

The one on the left is called Lavendare and the one on the right is called Ultra Violet.

Lavendare is on my middle and pinky fingers. Ultra Violet is on my pointer and ring fingers.

Lavendare is a dusty purple polish filled with shimmer. I did three coats with topcoat.

Ultra Violet is a gorgeous purple-blue packed with lilac shimmer. The color shift comes out best in bright light. I did three coats with topcoat.

As for the application, they were pretty good for being however told they may be. Not chunky and no pulling. I can't wait to try out the other vintage polishes I got in this box and obtain other ones. I only seriously got into nail polish a few years ago, so no vintage polishes in my stash before this. The oldest ones I have are some Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polishes, in the larger bottles before they changed to mini bottles.

Well, that's all I have for you guys for now. I will talk to you guys later, bye!
