OPI Swatches and Review

Hey guys! I am back today to show you four wonderful polishes from one of everyone's favorite salon polish brands, OPI.

I have recently come into more OPI polishes than I have had before due to swaps or me buying some. I have gotten three more to add to my collection of three already, so now I am up to 6!

I have four beauties to show you guys today. One you have seen before but I decided to swatch again, and three that I haven't shown you yet.

I will say now, my hands do not like the shape of these bottles, so it was hard to get my regular hand pose on these bottles. I did my best, but it didn't always work out, so I apologize in advance.

The first color that I have up to show you is the one I have shown you guys before, called Austin-tatious Turquoise. This is a nice, bright shimmery sheer turquoise that kind of has duochrome properties. I really love this color, it is so pretty. I did four coats by itself.

The next color I have to show you is called My Address is "Hollywood". This is a nice dusty rose pink with subtle shimmer. It is a little darker than what my swatch shows, my camera had a hard time getting the color correct. I did two coats. Application was great.

Third up, this one is called Muir Muir On the Wall. This is a dark purple/green/pink duochrome. I did around three to four coats. Application was great. The color is sheer, but it builds nicely. I just love this color, but then again, duochromes always do something for me. I just love a great color shift.

This last one is called Stay the Night. This is one of their liquid sand polishes. It is a smokey black texture with pinky-red glitter throughout. I did around two to three coats, some more than others just to even out all of the nails. I love textures, it is just fun to touch! I had trouble getting a good photograph for this one, and also with this one, I just trimmed my nails as one was just about broken, so my nails are a little shorter here. Application was great, just as a texture should apply!

OPI polishes can be purchased in salons and places such at Walmart. They usually run for around $8-$9 each. I know you can also find them at TJMaxx stores, not sure exactly the price per polish, but I think they can be found for around $3 each. Also, I know Nordstrom Rack sells them, but not for such a steal. They sell for a little below $8.

Orly Fantasea Swatches and Review

Hey guys! Today I have to show you the last of the three Orly polishes that I picked up a few weeks ago at TJMaxx.

This is called Fantasea. This is a purple-fuchsia duochrome. I added LA Colors Craze (the name of the color is actually called craze, I am not stating I used LA Colors: Color Craze, but I did) as an accent on my middle finger.

I did around three coats and topped it off with LA Colors Pro Gel Top Coat on top. It took too long to dryand created some imperfections in the polish which I am sure you guys can tell. I think it was the top coat that did it, plus my impatientness, not the polish itself.

This was a sheer polish so when applied, just like other sheer polishes, it applied splotchy but evened out in several more coats.

Orly FX in Fight On

Hey guys! Today I have another polish from Orly's FX collection to show you that I picked up in that haul I did at TJMaxx.

This one is called Fight On. This is a medium pink sheer duochrome topper filled with medium metallic pink hex glitters. I decided to show how this color looks by itself, so maybe then it will be easy to know what colors would look great under this.

I did around four coats, just to see if the base was buildable. It was building up a little, but really not much. I love this though, I think it would look great over a baby blue or white or even another pink polish.

Application was great with this one. I did have to fish a little of the large glitters out, I had to keep dipping the brush in the bottle until one came out, but it applied smooth.

Orly FX in Pink Your World

Hey guys! I am back today to show you one of the beauties that I picked up last month at TJMaxx.

One day, when I went to TJMaxx, not sure if it was after work or just on one of my days off, I checked their polish and cosmetics section like I always do. When I checked the polish, I noticed that they had so many Orly ones that I have never seen there before, and I saw that they also had tons of Physician's Formula's nail polish trios.

This is one of the Orlys that I picked up there. This is from their FX collection. This is a glitter topper filled with dark pink glitter and some silvery-black specks and shards.

I did three coats by itself. At first I thought this was going to be a texture polish, as I figured their FX line was made up of texture polishes, but I was mistaken. This is why I painted this color alone. Application was great with this one, no problems at all.

While I thought this polish was something that it was not, which is my own fault, I still think this is a great polish to buy. It looks like it would be great over blue, or black, or white, or any color you choose. It's very pretty and I love the little silverish-black shards.

Rainbow Honey Summer Mixtape Collection Swatches and Review

Hey guys! I am so happy today to be sharing with you guys a great review of some products that were sent to me!

The lovely Dee of Rainbow Honey sent me three lovely beauties from what she calls her "Summer Mixtape" collection. Also, she was so generous to send all of us who bog for her full size bottles! I know that it costs sometimes out the nose for those who make and sell polish, either part time or full time, so that was very nice of her to do.

She didn't send everyone the exact same three, she has 12 polishes in this collection. What everyone got in their packages was pretty much at random.

The three beauties that I got were called One Minute More, Work It Out, and Elevate. Here is a group shot of all three, and then I'll get to reviewing each one individually.

The first one I have up for you is One More Minute. It is described by Rainbow Honey as follows: "The sun will definitely shine on your nails with this sparkling lemon yellow." I did three coats by itself. Application was a little rough, it was a little streaky, but it is still super pretty.

Next up, this is Work It Out. Rainbow Honey describes this polish as follows: "I know we debate it, but this coral is the perfect summer staple." This is a smidge more orange in person, my camera hates corals with a passion so I can never capture them just right. I did one coat by itself. It was a rich, kinda thick coat so I didn't need to do any more. Application was a breeze for this one. I just love colors like this. Even though I have lots of corals already, this one is still very pretty and a great addition to my collection.

Last up, this one is my favorite of the three that I got sent. This one is called Elevate. Rainbow Honey describes this polish as follows: "Time to pic up this Ibiza-meets-New-Wave blend of glitters and celebrate!" It is filled with hex, circle, triangle small and large glitters in metallic light blue, light blue, pink, yellow, gold, lilac, white, and more. I did one coat on some nails and two on others, to make the coverage even. I just love this glitter topper. Application is great and I love the mix of colors.

China Glaze's Teal the Tide Turns

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in a while. After I posted the 4th of July mani I did last week, I wanted to see how long it would last on my nails.

Usually, my nails would begin to chip the very next day for no reason. Well, I think it is because my nails are weak or something. This time, my mani lasted pretty darn well for four days with minimal wear, and then only started to slightly chip after that. It lasted like at least 5 or 6 days.

I was finally tired of it on Wednesday, so I removed it, let my nails go bare for a day, and then decided since I had today off, I would paint my nails again.

I decided to go with a texture polish in hopes that it will last a few days at least. I chose one of the ones I received in a swap.

This is China Glaze's Teal the Tide Turns, from their Sea Goddess collection. This is a minty colored texture with micro green and black glitters throughout.

I did three coats all by itself. It was hard to apply, but it could be that this is a swap polish and it was used once before that it could have gotten a little gloppy? Or is that how China Glaze textures are? It was hard to get it to now show lines, but I still like this look anyways.

So my opinion of this? If you can just put up with some bad application, this is a super pretty polish and I'd wear it again probably. But if you are one of those where application means the world and no matter how pretty the polish is, if it doesn't apply just the way you want, you probably need to stear clear of this.

Happy Fourth of July Mani

Hey guys! Sorry it took a while to make another post, just wasn't feeling up to it lately.

I wanted to do something festive for the fourth of July. I am not big into holiday manis, but I just thought that since I am working today/tomorrow, and my nails were bare, I would come up with one.

The polishes that I used for this mani are from Wet n Wild and Glitter Guilty.

The first color I put on was Wet n Wild Megalast's Coast to Coast. This is a nice medium cloudy blue with some nice subtle shimmer. I did around two to three coats, depending on how thick each coat applied to each nail. I just love this color, it looks so gorgeous on its own.

 

I topped it off with Glitter Guilty's Iron Patriot. As my camera hates glitters, it was hard to capture the different colors of the glitters. Also, the light I use, it made some of the blue glitters look a bit more black. It is mixed with silver micro glitter, small red and blue glitters, and silver star glitter. I did around two coats because it was hard to get any glitter out of the bottle. I had to struggle for a while to even get one star glitter out.

Glitter Guilty polishes range from $8-$9 for full size bottles, on her website. Wet n Wild Megalast polishes go for $1.99 in stores such as Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, and other retailers.
